How Matka Works

How Matka Works

The whole Matka ecosystem is based on three levels. Understanding how everything works will give you ways to beat the game.
The concept of how matka works is different from the game and how it is played. This chapter covers the day to day organization of matka.

Matka runs on 3 Pillars of Trust

1 A Market will announce a fair result
[this trust keeps bookies taking games and players playing game]
2 A Bookie will make commission no matter what the result
[this is why bookies are doing their work]
3 A Player will get his winnings if his game matches with the result.
[this is why players are willing to risk a lot of money]
There are 3 stakeholders in the transaction. The Market, The Bookmarker and The Player.

The Market

The Market is the organizer, owner of particular market. Example : Kalyan, Milan, Rajdhani, Main Mumbai are some of the well known satta matka markets.

MAINTAINS THE GAME INTEGRITY

The Market is responsible to maintain the integrity of the game. The market is responsible to keep the game running in a interesting manner so that people are ever interested to play it. The market is also responsible to make sure running the game is profitable for the market, bookies and players.

ANNOUNCES THE RESULTS ON TIME

The Market is responsible to make sure results are announced on time every business day.

HEDGES THE RISK FOR BOOKIES

The Market is responsible to make sure its bookies are not under heavy payment risk. The market hedges the risk so that bookies are always in profit.

EXPANDS THE MARKET

The Market is responsible to venture into new markets to expand business.

The Bookmaker

ACCEPTS THE BETS FROM PLAYER

The Bookmaker, also called the bookie, is responsible to accept the bets from players.

PAY OFF WINNINGS

The Bookie is responsible to pay the winnings to player, if any, in a timely manner to keep the business going.

HEDGE RISKY BETS

The Bookie is responsible to hedge risky bets and forward it to top level bookie, or Market to make sure he’s protected from financial losses and can pay the winning player on time.

GETS COMMISSION

The Bookie gets commission for what he does. Normally its 5-10% on turnover he generates. Small bookies normally forwards the game to bigger, well organized bookmakers.

The Player

PLAYS THE GAME

The player is the one who bets his money on the game in hope to win a good return on his investment.

MAKES MONEY

If the player’s bet matches the result, the player makes money.

LOSES MONEY

Mostly, almost all the time, the player’s bet does not match the result and the player loses his money.

NEVER LEARNS FROM MISTAKES

On a general note, a general matka player never learns from his mistakes, nor improves his capabilities, knowledge to make profit from matka.

What happens when you play

Ever wondered what happens when you play ?
Here’s what happens :
You Send the Game to Bookie

If your bookie is just an agent, forwards game to a superior bookie for commission. Your agent might get full rate. You may get a slightly lower rate for the game than the agent gets. The agent makes commission and whenever you win, makes a marginal profit on your game.

The Big Bookie, absorbs the game, stakes and takes the risk to pay. The Big Bookie has a huge investment in place to pay the bets and agent commission. There are hundreds of agents working under a Big Bookie. The Big Bookie gets full rates, but offers adjusted rates to agents and customers.

If there are any risky bets, the bookie hedges the game with Market bookie. If you played a big game, like market shattering game like a 1000 on a Sangam, the bookie, plays the close pana at full rate / forwards the sangam in the first place with the market so that he’s protected from impending financial loss.

Market Announces the Result.

The Big bookie settles the winnings to the Agent almost immediately.

Your agent receives your winnings and commission on the turnover he generates.

The agent pays you your winnings.
